Following a successful career in education for over 25 years I chose to study acupuncture and trained for three and a half years under the supervision of some of the UK's leading acupuncturists at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading - one of the most respected in Britain.
After graduating with a Licentiate and a BSc (Hons) degree in acupuncture I became a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the main regulatory body for acupuncture in the UK. I have full medical malpractice and professional indemnity insurance and work within a very strict code of professional conduct and safe practice. I adopt a meticulous and sensitive approach to my treatments and focus very much on the needs of the individual client.
In addition to key aspects of western medicine, I studied both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture. This enables me to practise a complementary and holistic approach in the treatment of a wide range of conditions. I also keep up to date with research and maintain my skills through a regular commitment to professional development.
I have always been fascinated by the interaction between body and mind and passionate about the remarkable impact that acupuncture has on the health and wellbeing of individuals. As a regular tennis player I know how frustrating sports injuries can be and consequently I have a particular interest in the treatment of musculo-skeletal conditions. In addition I am also interested in the treatment of stress-related conditions and the use of acupuncture to support fertility treatments.
